Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information LingoBraz collects when you use this website and contact us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It is written to align with Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and, where it applies to you, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Last updated June 2026.
Who we are
LingoBraz provides Brazilian Portuguese localization and related language services. For the personal data described here, LingoBraz acts as the data controller, deciding why and how that data is processed.
For any question about this policy or your data, or to exercise your rights, contact us at contact@lingobraz.com.
The information we collect
Information you give us. When you submit a form on this site or email us, we collect the details you choose to provide, such as your name, work email, company, the service or industry you select, and the description of your project or the content you would like us to review.
Content you share for a sample, audit, or project. This may itself contain personal data or confidential information belonging to you or to third parties. We process this content only to provide the service you requested, treat it as confidential, and act on your instructions in respect of it.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our hosting provider receives standard technical data that your browser sends, such as your IP address, device and browser type, and the pages you view, recorded in server logs and used to keep the site available and secure.
Cookies. This website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising, and it does not run analytics or third party trackers. Our hosting provider may set only the essential cookies needed to serve and protect the site. If we add analytics or other cookies in future, we will update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
How and why we use your information
We use the information above to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote or a sample, deliver the work you commission, manage our relationship with you, keep our records, meet legal and accounting obligations, and keep the website secure.
Under the LGPD and the GDPR, our legal bases for this are: taking steps at your request and performing our contract with you; our legitimate interests in running, improving, and securing our business, balanced against your rights; your consent, where we ask for it; and compliance with our legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We share it only with the providers and people who help us run the site and deliver our work, each bound by contract and confidentiality.
These include our form provider, Formspree, which receives and stores the submissions you send through our forms; our website hosting provider; vetted linguists or specialists engaged on your project, under confidentiality; and professional advisers, or public authorities, where we are required to share by law.
International data transfers
Some of our providers, including our form provider and our hosting, are located outside Brazil, including in the United States. This means your data may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in other countries.
When we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps to keep it protected to a standard consistent with the LGPD and, where it applies, the GDPR, including by using providers that commit to appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep your personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out above, and to meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, after which we delete it or make it anonymous. Records tied to financial or contractual obligations may be kept for the period the law requires, which in Brazil is generally up to five years.
Content you share for a sample, audit, or project is returned or deleted at your request once the work is complete, subject to any retention we are legally required to keep.
Confidentiality of the content you share
We treat any content you send us for a sample, audit, or project as confidential. We use it only to provide the service, we limit access to the people working on it, and we do not use the materials you share to train any publicly available AI model. We are happy to sign a non disclosure agreement before you send anything sensitive.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, and we limit access to those who need it to do their work. No website or system is perfectly secure, but we take protecting your information seriously and work to keep it safe.
Your rights
Under Brazil's LGPD, and under the GDPR where it applies to you, you have rights over your personal data. These include the right to confirm that we process your data and to access it, to correct it, to request its deletion or anonymization, to ask for a copy in a portable form, to know who we share it with, to withdraw any consent you have given, and to object to certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@lingobraz.com, and we will respond within the time the law allows. If you are not satisfied, you may also contact Brazil's data protection authority, the ANPD (Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados), or, under the GDPR, your local supervisory authority.
Children
This website and our services are intended for businesses and the people who work for them. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The date above shows when it was last revised, and any material change will be shown here.
